About the director

Camp Director:

Brian Keith

Being the son of a basketball coach, Brian Keith  had the opportunity to be around basketball practically from birth.  Growing up around the game, he was particularly successful in learning the fundamentals of the game, the proper mental approach to the game, and long-range shooting skills.  All of these areas and more will be discussed throughout the week.

Coach Keith played his high school basketball in south suburban Detroit where he was an All-Detroit metro and MHSAA All-state 5th team player and set school records for 3-pointers in a game (8), 3-pointers in a season (54), and 3-pointers in a career (120).  He played college basketball at Northland (NCCAA) in Wisconsin where he also set school records for 3-pointers in a game (9), 3-pointers in a season (77), 3-pointers in a career (249), and free-throw percentage in a season (86%).

He has coached on the junior high and high school levels with both boys and girls.  Coach Keith is currently the Ahtletic Director and girls and boys basketball coach at Romeoville Christian Acadaemy in Romeoville, Illinois.  He and his wife are blessed with three young boys, who are constantly begging their dad to "play basketball with them."

MESSAGE FROM DIRECTOR

Dear Athlete and Parents of Athletes,

Basketball is an extremely enjoyable sport when you know the rules, can do the fundamentals, and get a lot of playing time on your team.  What does it take to be a successful basketball player?  HARD WORK!  You can only improve so much during the season.  Basketball teams are made during the basketball season; however, basketball players are made during the off-season. That is why camps are so important.  I look forward to seeing each camper make strides of improvement this summer so they can make a bigger impact on their teams during the season and in turn have more fun with this game.

I look forward to working with your child in an effort to develop the habits and skills to help them improve their basketball skills.

Sincerely,

Brian Keith, Camp Director
